Part Time Web Developer

Requirements:

Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or above in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or other relevant fields plus at least 1 year’s hands on web development experience. Good computer knowledge and hands on experience in MS Windows and Unix environment. Good programming skills and in-depth knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3. Experienced in developing for WordPress using PHP and MySQL is required. Familiar with JQuery, Bootstrap and other similar frontend framework. Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English is expected; the candidates should be able to work independently and having a strong sense of responsibility.

Duties:

To develop a standalone website (or a customized WordPress site) from scratch for disseminating good practice and exemplars from the project. To create user-friendly UI so that raw content, such as text, image, video and documents, can be easily navigated and searchable using filters and keywords. To refine the website according to project team members’ comment.

Employment period:

To commence as soon as possible until August 2017.

Full-time Research Assistant I/II (Ref: 201700067)

The Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) at The University of Hong Kong has launched a new three-year university-school support project on Self-Directed Learning in Science (SDLS) in September 2014. Requirements:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education or other relevant fields. They should also have proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese; excellent communication skills; good IT skills; and experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.  Familiarity with the local education environment and curriculum design is highly desirable. Preference will be given to those with sound knowledge and skills in using moodle platform and have teaching experience; research skills, particularly interview and qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills; and experience in project coordination and organizing events e.g. seminars and conferences.

Duties:

The appointee will assist the SDLS project team to conduct lesson observations, surveys and interviews; organization of project seminars; data management; and assist in paper-based and online data collection and analysis as well as day to day project administration.

Employment period:

To commence as soon as possible until August 2017.
