Biography


Prof. Carl Bereiter    is a Professor in the Centre for Applied Cognitive Science and the Department of Human Development and Applied Psychology and is a Co-Director of the Education Commons at OISE/UT. His particular are of interest is applied epistemology” – theories of knowledge and mind that have practical implications for education, knowledge creation, and knowledge work.

 

Prof. Marlene Scardamalia   is a Professor in the Centre for Applied Cognitive Science and Department of Curriculum Teaching and Learning. She is inventor of CSILE (Computer Centered Learning Environments), which was the first networked collaborative learning environment for schools. Other notable projects include the Knowledge Society Network and the "Schools for Thought" program.
Prof. Allan Collins   is Professor of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University and Research Professor of Education at Boston College. He is a member of the National Academy of Education, a fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, and served as a founding editor of the journal Cognitive Science and as first chair of the Cognitive Science Society.
