Disclaimer for the Use of VR Learning & Teaching Resources under the eLEARN 2.0 Project

This batch of 90 sets of VR learning & teaching resources for primary school Chinese, English and General Studies (Science & Humanities) subjects, including user guides, APK installation packages, demonstration videos and all attached files, are available for free download from the Centre for Information Technology in Education, Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong (hereafter referred to as “CITE” ). They shall only be used for non profit making teaching and learning by school teachers and students.

All users shall read this disclaimer thoroughly before accessing, downloading, saving, installing or launching any VR related file. Your access to any resource constitutes full understanding and unconditional acceptance of every clause below. Cease browsing and file access operations straight away if you disagree with any provision.

1. Copyright Provisions

All copyright and intellectual property rights covering the full VR modules, installation packages, videos, documents and derived materials belong to CITE.

No party may copy, adapt, decompile, redistribute or repost these resources without written approval from CITE. End users are prohibited from erasing, covering up or altering embedded copyright marks, producer attributions and source labels.

2. Usage Restrictions

1. All resources are limited to learning only download and use by school teachers and students for educational purposes. Any commercial oriented activity, including profit making services, promotion, paid tutoring and premium distribution, is strictly forbidden.
2. End users shall not reverse engineer, decompile, edit, remake or re develop the materials. Unauthorised reposting, repackaging and public redistribution of full or partial resources are not permitted.
3. No derivative software, teaching kits or publicly shared materials may be produced from the contents.

3. Exclusion of Liability

1. These free of charge VR teaching materials are supplied on an “as is” basis. CITE offers no express or implied warranty over content accuracy, multi device compatibility or software operation stability.
2. CITE accepts no legal liability for hardware breakdown, data loss, system damage, device conflict or third party disputes triggered by users’ self directed download, installation and program execution.
3. VR hardware based experience may induce motion sickness symptoms. Should users suffer from dizziness, nausea, vomiting, eye strain or any other physical discomfort or health related issues while using the resources, all risks shall be borne by the users themselves. CITE accepts no liabilities. Pupils must be supervised by teachers or parents and stop usage immediately once discomfort arises.
4. Users shall bear full legal responsibility for copyright infringement, commercial conflicts and unlawful dissemination caused by improper resource usage.

4. Jurisdiction

This disclaimer is governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. All relevant disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of Hong Kong courts.
