The International Society for Technology in Educational (ISTE) in collaboration with the US Dept. of Education and the curriculum organizations in mathematics, science, social studies, and literacy, has developed a set of standards for preservice and novice teachers on the the use of technology in teaching and learning. The standards are supported by a description of the essential conditions necessary to be present at the university and collaborating school sites to enable preservice teachers to meet the standards. In addition, to assist in the implementation of the standards, performance indicators clarified by a set of performance profiles for university coursework, pedagogical coursework, student teaching experiences, and first year teaching will be presented by Professor Kelly.
