In this talk, the presenter will introduce the studies that her team are doing in Shanghai. These are roughly two groups of studies that are being conducted in an ICT-rich environment dedicated to the innovative learning design. The first group of the studies is from the perspective that trying to innovate the learning design in support of teaching and learning, by making use of new ICT tools and applications such as e-Textbook, learning map, semantic diagram and social APPs, among which design, development and innovative use of e-Textbook in the classroom have been focused on. The second group of studies is from the perspective that trying to trace and model the learning behaviors in the ICT-rich learning environment, such as rating student’s classroom performance with iPad. The intention of these studies is to obtain an in-depth understanding of students’ learning and then provide timely and appropriate learning interventions.
<p>Dr. Xiaoqing Gu is head and professor of department of educational information technology, School of educational Science, East China Normal University, China. Her research has focused primarily on ICT in education, including the ICT-supported content design and development, ICT-integrated pedagogical innovation, computer-supported collaborative learning. She is a member of International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS), member of Association of Educational Communication Technology (AECT), Chinese Expert member, ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36 ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36, Information Technology for Learning, Education, and Training, member of Chinese E-Learning Technology Standardization Committee (CELTSC), and Council member of Academy of National ICT Education. She is editor in chief of International Journal of Smart Technology and Learning, board member of Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, Journal of Computer in Education, associate editor of Journal of Education and Learning, serve as reviewer of many academic journals.</p>
