The latest version of Moodle (2.2) offers increased support for learning outcomes, and for the first time supports the marking of assignments with the use of a built-in rubric! This hands-on workshop will demonstrate how to create and use a marking rubric in Moodle, and review two case studies where rubrics, scales, and outcomes have been used for marking at HKU


About the speaker(s):

<p>Brant Knutzen has been teaching using the Moodle LMS since 2005. His teaching approach focuses on the setup and operation of highly engaging teaching / learning activities on the LMS which maximize student collaboration and the social construction of knowledge. He began operating a university project using the Moodle 2 platform in July 2011, and recently taught two MSc Education courses on eLearning using the Faculty of Education Moodle 2 server. He is currently the Learning Designer for the Faculty of Education at HKU.</p>
