Hong Kong has introduced formal Chinese Medicine (CM) education program into their higher education system since 1997. School of Chinese Medicine, the University of Hong Kong has set up filed trip summer course for second year BChinMed students for more than 10 years. Students participated in Yunnan field trip to study herbal plant authentication and CM culture. The experience of field trip was beneficial as students can get direct perception of medical plants ever previously studied in lectures. However, problems were identified in current field trip, such as learning outcome assessment and long time knowledge management. To improve the course, an e-learning platform, Moodle, was designed to integrate into current field trip. At the end of the course, a questionnaire was developed to collect students’ feedback and the result showed that students were satisfied with the Moodle e-learning platform.
