University of Nantes is the second largest (by the number of students) university in France that caters to both on-campus and off-campus students. The seminar will outline the key educational strategies related to the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to cater for these diverse groups of students, and discuss educational and technical decisions that were taken in order to implement these strategies. Frédéric Habert will illustrate the issues and the solutions to develop the use of ICTs for education at Nantes using the example of the implementation of Moodle (a free and open source learning management system). He will discuss all aspects of the implementation including the training necessary for teachers.
