Description:The EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR) http://www.educause.edu/content.asp?Section_ID=4 assembles leading scholars, practitioners, researchers, and analysts to focus on technology issues of critical importance to higher education. In doing so the Center provides timely research and analysis to help higher education leaders make better decisions about information technology. As Vice President of EDUCAUSE and founder of ECAR, Richard Katz will address a number of current research findings from ECAR and their implications for higher education. Richard will also discuss likely trends in information technology and how these may affect higher education institutions and society at large.
