Teaching
involves not only identifying pedagogical strategies but also addressing
management challenges. This seminar will address issues that arise in the
integration of IT into teaching and learning, as well as those involved in
team-teaching, communication with students, organizing and managing student
groups, dealing with student commitment, using media technologies, organizing
course events (e.g., guest speakers), and assessment. The speaker will
highlight his experience in curriculum enrichment through IT (Moodle, Mahara,
etc) on a large-class Common Core Curriculum course and on the Master of
Education research methods course.


This
session is one of a series of presentations on using technology to support
teaching and learning at HKU as part of the Earmarked Teaching Development
Grant (TDG) for the 4-Year Undergraduate Curriculum Reform project
"Building Communities of Good Practices in using IT in the Curriculum

About the speaker(s):

<p>Dr. Mark
King is a Research Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the
University of Hong Kong. His research interests include public health policy
and practice, IT in education, as well as information, statistical, and data
literacy.</p>
