Being an
educator in the 21st century comes with its own challenges:
• technology
that is constantly changing (Moodle, iPhones, iPads),
• information
that lives online and is growing at an exponential rate,
• and new
pedagogies that accompany these developments (connectivism, networked
learning).
Building a
personal learning network can be the most sane thing you do as a 21st century
educator, whether you’re a teacher, librarian, manager or education
technologist. With the use of video
excerpts, we examine the building blocks of a typical educator’s PLN. Which tools do they use? How does a PLN
work? Why is this effective for their personal learning? How does it affect
their practice?
