This course is aimed at multimedia beginners, not complete computer novices. It assumes that participants are quite familiar with using a computer and would be able to learn a new application fairly quickly. The emphasis is on the preparation of multimedia data and its subsequent incorporation into a system that may be delivered on a CD-ROM or over the web.

About the speaker(s):

Guest speaker Dr. John Messing John is a senior academic in the School of Information Studies at Charles Sturt University in Australia. He has spent nearly 30 years developing courseware for education at all levels, primary, secondary as well as tertiary. He has used Information and Communication Technologies as an integral part of his teaching for more than 15 years. He has developed numerous multimedia packages including collaborations with international organisations such as Apple Computer and Australian national bodies including the National War Memorial Museum and the State Library of New South Wales as well as European partners such as the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa.
