Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in IT or computer science related disciplines, excellent knowledge of web-based technologies in education, and at least 5 years’ experience in supporting e-Learning curriculum innovation in schools. They should have programming expertise in PHP, knowledge of MySQL & Apache, and experience in customization/development of Learning Management Systems and open-source e-Learning applications. A higher degree in computer science, experience in Moodle/mobile applications customization, knowledge of Learning Design and development of e-Learning Design tools and experience in development of learning analytics applications are definite advantages.
The appointee will be responsible for the development and system support of a Moodle-based Learning and Assessment Platform (iLAP) with customized features to support innovative, student-centred e-learning activities in STEM subjects, as well as developing a suite of technologies including the Learning Design Studio to support teachers in their learning and assessment design, as well as in the development of design-aware learning analytics and visualization for teachers and students. He/She will also be responsible for system maintenance of the Centre’s servers, trouble-shooting and providing technical support to project team members, supporting schools in their use of iLAP and Learning Design Studio for teaching and learning, and providing training sessions to teachers and students. He/She is expected to recommend and propose improvements to procedures/operations and handle independently non-routine business with initiative and effectiveness. He/She will take up supervisory roles and address workflow, knowledge management and organizational problems, as well as mentor, motivate, guide, and manage subordinates to support the development and implementation of technology-enhanced learning in Centre projects. He/She may also be required to conduct school visits, liaise and communicate with teachers and principals on the technical aspects of the iLAP system and Learning Design Studio as well as other associated e-Learning applications and resources, and perform other duties as assigned.
To commence on September 1, 2023 on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal.
