The appointee will be responsible for enhancing the user interface for designing the the CITE developed learning design tool, Learning Design Studio (LDS) and to design the functionalities and user interface for an extension to LDS to provide learning analytics add-ons to a learning management system (LMS) such as Moodle in order to provide pedagogically appropriate feedback and recommendations in the form of user-friendly visualizations to teachers and learners on the LMS. The Learning Designer will also be supporting teachers and students in schools and higher education institutions in using the learning design and learning analytics tools on the extended LDS for learning and teaching. He/ She will need to conduct face-to-face/online training workshops and develop user guides for LDS users, including students, teachers, administrators, and other users, as well as contribute to the further design and development of LDS to meet the diverse needs of different user groups.
For appointment at IT Officer / Senior Research Assistant level, Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Learning Design / Education Technology or related fields with at least 2 years of work experience in instructional/ learning design in an educational institution or in the educational technology industry with demonstrated expertise in the integration of diverse e-learning systems/ tools/ resources, student-centered e-learning, e-assessment, and feedback design. Applicants should have knowledge in the use of Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle) to support blended and fully online learning. Experience in the use of learning analytics to support learner feedback and intervention is desirable.
For appointment at Research Assistant I / II level, applicants should at least possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Education Technology, Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. They should have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in education institutions, educational technology or educational publishing industries, good communication skills, and an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (competence in Cantonese is an advantage). Additional relevant qualifications/experience include: a Master’s degree or above related to technology in education, a teaching qualification, or teaching experience will have a definite advantage.
To commence as soon as possible until August 31, 2024.
