Lecturer (holding the title of Senior School Development Officer)

Requirements

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in STEAM/ science education, e-learning, assessment, curriculum studies, education, or a related area; a recognized teaching qualification; and at least 7 years’ relevant experience in science teaching, curriculum development, teacher training and/or providing direct support to schools to enhance science education. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of pedagogical innovation and experience in supporting teacher learning and professional development. Priority will be given to those who have experience in research on teacher learning and/or school development for curriculum/pedagogical innovations, or who have held leadership positions (e.g. vice principal, curriculum leader and subject panel head) in schools, or who have demonstrated expertise in managing/supporting large-scale school development projects.

Duties

The appointee will work closely with the project leaders in supporting the leadership and organizational functions of the related teacher and school networks, and running network activities. He/She will be expected to:
1. assist the project leaders to design and implement professional development workshops for teachers and school leaders on STEAM education, self-directed learning and innovation leadership;
2. coordinate and liaise with different parties involved in the related projects for the planning, design and implementation of various project activities;
3. work collaboratively with teachers in designing STEAM curriculum using self-directed learning strategies;
4. work independently in planning, developing and implementing as well as evaluating school-based support plans for project schools;
5. nurture project schools for their multi-level leadership capacity development;
6. give training to project staff, including drafting the guidelines for supporting teachers’ co-planning, lesson observation, and post classroom observation discussion;
7. prepare project reports and research papers, develop project deliverables, and design and conduct related qualitative and quantitative research; and
8. perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Period

To commence from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.
