Senior Research Assistant (holding the functional title of Project Manager)

Requirements

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Social Science, Psychology, Education, Science or a related discipline. They should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, good communication skills, and an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese). Those with a Master’s degree or above in education are preferred. Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and be self-motivated. Basic competence in website management and maintenance is required, preferably familiarity with social media. Experience in leading large-scale surveys and school-based support projects is highly desirable. Preference will be given to those who are familiar with the local education system and who have experience in teacher education or conducting educational research. The ability to work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines is essential to succeed in this role. They should also be responsible and able to work independently and in a team with different stakeholders (e.g., school leaders, teachers, and parents, NGOs, etc).

Duties

The appointee will work closely with the project leaders in supporting the leadership and organizational functions of the teacher and school networks of a project on STEAM education. He/She will be expected to:
1. liaise with different stakeholders of the project including the funding body to ensure that the project is implemented effectively;
2. supervise and support the organization of project activities including project disseminations and meetings;
3. supervise and support the development of project deliverables;
4. supervise and support the implementation and analysis of related surveys and studies;
5. prepare and support the preparation of related project documents, including project proposals and reports, research reports and school cases; and
6. engage in strategic planning and evaluation of the project
7. perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Period

To commence from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.
